What is Turkey Trot?

The Turkey Trot is a school wide event, taking place on Thursday, November 3rd*, and all students will participate. We are asking that each student make a voluntary minimal contribution of $2. Funds collected will benefit Wilton families in need and will go towards purchasing turkeys and gift cards for Wilton Social Services to distribute to families in December. (additional donations are welcome) Thank you for your support of Wilton Social Services.

Donations (Cash or Check ONLY) will be accepted now through Monday, October 30th.

~Checks are to be made payable to “Cider Mill Activity Fund.”

 

The trot will take place at Cider Mill on the fields to the north of the school and the high

school track. The Turkey Trot is coordinated by the Cider Mill Physical Education Department along with PTA assistance. Started by retired Cider Mill physical education teacher Jim Cook, the tradition of all Cider Mill students participating in the Turkey Trot holds true. Students may run, jog or walk the ½ mile course. Don’t forget to wear sneakers on 11/2**

 

Parents are encouraged to come cheer on their children the day of the Turkey Trot. 

Times:

3rd Grade  7:50-8:20 a.m.  

4th Grade  8:30-9:00 a.m.

5th Grade  9:10-9:40 a.m.

**Be sure to bring an extra pair of socks and shoes due to the possible wet fields on the run**
